Laundry Day?

Doesn't Chili looked thrilled?
Hope you can't see any unmentionables. I tried to cover them up :)

Is there really such a thing as laundry day? Just one day? Not in my house. Generally, I try very hard to limit laundry washing to three days a week. However, this becomes increasingly difficult when I add in Bryan's work clothes,(ick) and the kids' sports clothes, and the bed sheets, blankets, dog bed... I could go on and on.

I swear, sometimes the house feels eerilly quiet when I can't hear the hum of the washer.

Then, I can't forget to mention the ironing that follows all that washing. Ya know, out of all the mundane chores that just need to get done, ironing is not so bad. Typically, I just set everything up in front of the TV, and watch the news for a while. Not bad. Now, ask me about my least favorite chores. They would include, but are not limited to: toilet cleaning, scrubbing the tub, cleaning out the fridge and cleaning out the ick in the oven.

Back to laundry day. When I was a little munchkin, I remember my mom doing laundry once a week. What's up with that?! We were country bumpkins, for goodness sake! We lived on a farm. You know, those places full of dirt? And animals. You know where I'm going there. How did my mom do that? After not doing laundry at my house for two days, I start hearing my little munchkins ask, "Mom, where's my favorite shirt?, Have you seen my good shorts? Honey, did you ever iron my striped shirt? The one I like to wear all the time?" To be honest, we must have really stank growing up. This could be because back then, there was a weekly bath day. Ewwww... That's a whole other story. Ah well...good memories.

Laundry is NEVER ending at my house. Just when you think you are caught up...there's another pile! I sometimes have nightmares that I am drowning in piles and piles of dirty clothes :(

Ditto! Sometimes I feel burried alive by the laundry and house work!
