Pumpkin Carving Night

We went to the pumpkin patch quite some time ago and the kids have been bugging Bryan & I like crazy to carve them. I won't carve pumpkins more than a week early, I'm just weird like that, so Sunday night was going to be the night.

Every year I buy those carving kits that have the templates you can use to make really intricate designs. I now have quite the collection. Bryan always likes to do a really tricky one, however, this year his daughter talked him into doing a cute kitty-cat design. I love Bryan. Hayden picked a short, oblong pumpkin, so he was more limited to designs. He ended up choosing something that proved to be a little too difficult. Long story short...his pumpkin ended up with a really big smile. I helped Jill make a cat face on hers, and I let Hayden do my pumpkin in a more classic happy face. I like the classics.

The best part, of course, is the guts.

And pretending to eat the guts.

Ugh...she is so much like her dad.

Good ol' Hayden, taking it all very seriously, just like his mom.

We had a fun night and are happy with how our masterpieces turned out!
Hope all of you have a fun and safe Halloween!
