Finally! I thought today would never arrive. I get to have those medical tests that I have hinted about in previous blogs. There is nothing secretive about those tests, I just don't like to go on & on about medical issues. I don't want to be like the elderly lady at the grocery store who holds you by the elbow and whispers to you about her corns, hemorrhoids, and her many menopausal problems. Not to mention that her Cousin Hal just had four warts removed on his left hand, third knuckle. Know what I mean?
These tests I speak of, write of, ...hmmm... Anyhow, they are actually quite simple. One is a IPV, the other a CPUV, or a LKJIU, OYHBB...whatever. Long story short, through the help of a catheter, (ewww...), and an IV, some really expensive Xray equipment, and some dye, I'll hopefully get a good look as to how my kidneys, bladder and other urinary things are functioning. Or not.
Unfortunately, my appointment is not until 2pm. They told me to adhere to a clear diet, which began at midnight. Anyone who knows me knows that I have to have, no, I NEED to have my coffee in the morning. I have had coffee every morning for a very long time, so inevitably, the much anticipated, lack of caffeine headache has arrived. Oh, and I am starving. I know this has to be in my head, because I normally don't even eat breakfast.
I thought that I wouldn't get a good night sleep, due to worry and fretting, but I did. I slept wonderfully. I woke up great. Then the laxative hit. Ewww- Sorry to all.
I have to be honest. I have really wanted these tests done for a long time, and glad to do it, but it makes me anxious & jittery. The lack of caffeine surely isn't helping. I'm only worried of two things. One, that they find something and two, that they don't. Oh, and that the ya-hoo in charge of placing the catheter won't be kind to my who-ha. Sorry to my brother Steven. You shouldn't have to think of such things.
Anyway, I'm off to have a nice yummy, satisfying bowl of orange Jello. Did I mention that I'm hungry?
