"Christmasy" Weekend

Christmacy? Well, let's say we had a weekend full of "merriment making". Merriment making? Hmmm. We tried to get into the Christmas mood. There. That's what we did. We did a pretty good job of it, too. As customary, on the weekend before Bryan's birthday, (Dec 12th, feel free to call or write :) ) we got our Christmas Tree. It's so nice being the daughter of a Christmas Tree farmer. In my 33 years, I have never had to pay for my tree. (thanks Dad) We went over the river & through the woods,(literally), and went to Grandma & Grandpa's.

Hayden especially looks forward to this. Any excuse to drive Grandpa's tractor.

This year we tried out the Christmas Tree Shaker. Read: fewer needles on the rug. That thing can shake the fillings out of your teeth! That's what Hayden is laughing about.

The kids & I also had a nice crafting day. We made snowflakes using only Q-tips, glue & glitter. Was a lot of fun and I think they turned out kinda cute. We hung them with fishing line from the family room window. Too cute.

We also made decorations for Grandma & Grandpa using concrete pavers.

This was a very fun project I found it in Family Fun Magazine. Very easy, fun & inexpensive.
We had a nice weekend. On Saturday night, we met up with some friends and enjoyed our small town's Light Parade. Funny, we ended up sitting at the finish end of it, not at the beginning, so the kids were a little disappointed in the lack of candy they received. I wasn't! Next weekend? Gingerbread house!
